Elephant Fanam Ring I
- 18K Yellow Gold
- Size 5.25
A one-of-a-kind ring crafted in hand-brushed 18k yellow gold. The softened geometry of the signet form is reduced to weight and surface, with an original Gajapati gold fanam from the Chola Dynasty, dating to the 11th–13th century AD, balanced above it in its original, unaltered form. The rare fanam bears the elephant, a symbol of strength and sovereignty.
The coin rests lightly upon the ring, preserving its scale, irregularity and the traces of its making. A small cutout on the reverse reveals the other side of the strike, allowing both faces of the historic object to remain visible.
Each historic coin is individually sourced from auction houses around the world. As every coin is unique in its age, provenance, condition and rarity, prices vary according to the individual coin selected.
